Montreal Impact midfielder David Testo doesn't regret coming out last month even though his future as a soccer player hangs in the balance.

Testo announced last month he is gay; he tells the Los Angeles Times that the feedback he's received since has been overwhelmingly positive. But as the Impact prepares to join Major League Soccer, the U.S.-based professional soccer league, it' not clear if Testo will remain with the team.

While Testo was recently named MVP of the Impact, he hasn't played many games as of late. There's speculation that his coming out may encourage the Impact to cut him from the team.

"No one's going to come out and say [it's because he's out]," Billy Bean, a former professional baseball player who is now out, told the Times. "They can come up with a million reasons."

Testo meets with Impact officials on Monday. Read more here.
