Santorum Is "Intelligent," in Spite of Questionable Sign
Antigay presidential candidate Rick Santorum recently asked voters to call him "intelligent," though many bloggers are laughing at him for holding up an unintentionally funny campaign sign.
While fishing for votes in Iowa recently, Santorum held up a sign with the words "Santorum for President" written in brown squiggly letters; it brought to mind Dan Savage's reappropriation of Santorum's name as the by-product of anal sex (it's not yet clear if it was an intentional joke played on the candidate).
Wonkette reports that Santorum Wednesday took press questions regarding his support for profiling at airports. "I don't want to be called a xenophobe. I want to be called intelligent," he added, explaining he wants to protect America, according to Wonkette.
Speaking of intelligence, the former Pennsylvania senator tweeted Wednesday about a new study that showed fewer Americans are getting married. "Here is 1 effect of changing definition of marriage," Santorum wrote before linking to the study.
