Five men in Derby, England, are scheduled to go on trial today for allegedly calling for the execution of homosexuals.
According to The Huffington Post, the men -- Ihjaz Ali, 42, Mahboob Hassain, 45, Umer Javed, 38, Razwan Javed, 28, and Kabir Ahmed, 27 -- are accused of inciting hatred by distributing leaflets outside a Derby mosque and through the mail in July 2010.
The leaflet was titled "The Death Penalty?" and it reportedly called for the execution of gay people.
"This is the first ever prosecution for this offense and it is the result of close working between the Crown Prosecution Service [CPS] and Derbyshire Police," said CPS attorney Sue Hemming.
