Dave Karger Hosts Oscar Series, Returns as Official Greeter

Dave Karger, one of the film industry's most reliable Academy Awards pundits, has been named as the official red carpet greeter for the Oscars for the second consecutive year as well as host of the web series offering an in-depth look at best picture nominees, reportsEntertainment Weekly.

Karger, a veteran entertainment journalist for EW, who's also a familiar face to film buffs for his appearances on Turner Classic Movies and Access Hollywood, will host the 10-part daily series filmed at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles. Besides looking closely at each of the best picture nominees, Karger will also offer tips on how to win your Oscar pool.

Last February Karger spoke withThe Advocate about being named as the Oscars' new official greeter, saying it's a position he's dreamed about for years. "To follow in the footsteps of Army Archerd and Robert Osborne, are you kidding me?" he said. "It was an honor."
