WATCH: Religious Grandparents for Same Sex Marriage

A Lutheran pastor and his wife of nearly 70 years are speaking out in favor of Washington's marriage equality law because they want their two gay grandsons to enjoy lives similar to their own.

In the video the Reverend John and Dorothy Reitan share photos and anecdotes from their seven decades together. They also acknowledge that two of their nine grandchildren are gay men, including Jacob Reitan, who helped found the Soulforce Equality Ride.

"We want our nine grandchildren to be able to share in the joy and happiness that Dorothy and I have," John says in the video.
