Nico Tortorella and Bethany Meyers went to a New York City courthouse and are married, they announced Saturday along with a set of stunning wedding photos.
They were actually married on March 9. "Took us like 3 minutes," quipped Meyers in a video taken immediately afterward. "11 years; 3 minutes," joked Tortorella.
"Can't believe I kept my mouth shut for an entire week until we shared this," wrote Meyers on Instagram, encouraging her followers to "open your mind to what different types of love can look like."
The two have a polyamorous romantic partnership that they described in a cover story with The Advocate last year, headlined "Yes, This Is a Queer Family." Tortorella, a star of Younger, has embraced the term bisexual but is frequently described as queer, demisexual, and sexually fluid. Meyers identifies as gay. Both defy labels.
"I think for so long there's been like one quote-unquote normal way of life," said Tortorella. "And anybody that doesn't live in that structure needs to find a home of sorts. And I think labels are really important for kids, especially, [who] can't find their tribe where they are, and need to go find their people, their family. For that reason, I think labels are extremely important."
