Piers Morgan has continued his recent attack on Gillette by publishing screenshots of what appears to be tweets from model Chrissy Teigen.
Morgan included the alarming social media posts in a Daily Mail column that accuses Teigen of transphobia, among other offenses. Previously, Teigen had tweeted her support of the razor company.
The alleged tweets range from 2009 to 2011, just a year before Teigen began representing Gillette in 2012 as a brand model.
Morgan's claims come just a day after publishing a separate column, where he continued to fuel the controversy surrounding a #MeToo-inspired commercial released by the company that has come in for both intense praise and scrutiny.
Morgan argues that he is focusing on the model because he believes these tweets embody "anti-female bullying, abuse and harassment," which are sentiments the ad is focused on eradicating.
One alleged tweet includes transphobic language toward the show America's Next Top Model, one year after transgender model Isis King appeared on the show. Another discusses pop star Lady Gaga and her genitals.
An additional tweet shows Teigen potentially making jokes about actress Lindsay Lohan harming herself when she sees actress Emma Stone.
"So the company that now wants to lecture men on how to treat women was quite happy hiring a woman who delights in attacking women for everything from their weight and addiction issues to self-harming," he writes in his column.
While Morgan is appearing to argue for inclusivity and respect for all women and LGBTQ people, the journalist has a long history of displaying quite the opposite attitude. The now-fired television host famously attacked transgender activist and writer Janet Mock. He has asked Caitlyn Jenner inappropriate questions about her genitalia.
And he's even voiced disdain for gender-fluid people by calling a baby "It" on television.
Teigen's alleged tweets emerge only a month after anti-LGBTQ ones emerged from comedian Kevin Hart, which led to weeks of controversy and to him stepping down from hosting the Oscars.
The comedian appeared on numerous media outlets to defend comments that many felt exposed a violent homophobia that Hart did not seem to understand or be able to apologize for in a manner that felt sincere to many LGBTQ people.
Teigen -- who has publicly supported the LGBTQ community in various ways, including donating almost $300,000 to the American Civil Liberties Union on President Trump's birthday for various human rights -- has not yet responded to a request for comment from The Advocate.
