It's been a joyous holiday season for Mariah Carey.

The singer's merry hit "All I Want for Christmas Is You" not only celebrated its 25th anniversary this year -- it also reached the number 1 spot on the Billboard 100 for the first time ever.

The diva shared this holiday cheer in a new segment of Billy on the Street, a Netflix series in which Billy Eichner runs around the streets of New York City to play games with its residents, often with a celebrity in tow.

Carey joined Eichner to quiz New Yorkers on the lyrics of popular holiday songs, handing out prizes like a Christmas tree with a Glitter album on top as well as a menorah to those who had the correct responses.

"Oh, my gosh, Mariah handed me a tree!" exclaimed one delighted fan, who knew the lyrics to "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."

Not everyone won the contest. One woman incorrectly phrased the lyrics as "Santa Claus Way" instead of "Santa Claus Lane" from the song "Here Comes Santa Claus." Carey also contested one contestant's response to the lyrics of "I Have a Little Dreidel"; he said, "Now dreidel I shall play," whereas she said it is "will play."

Regardless, the "Queen of Christmas" brought delight to everyone Eichner introduced her to in New York. Viewers learned some information about Carey in the process. For instance, the singer wrote the lyrics to "All I Want for Christmas Is You" in 90 minutes; she is conversant in Swedish; she wears two rings shaped like butterflies, her favored insect; and she is a fan of Peppermint Patty.

Carey also demonstrated a knack for improvising when "Hanukkah goblin" Billy Eichner broke one of the Christmas trees. "Will you please hold this emoji for me?" she asked someone off-camera. She handed the ornament away and then reassembled the broken tree into a Hanukkah bush.
