Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts has married her longtime partner Amber Laign.
The two, who have been together 18 years, announced the news on the Instagram account they run for their dog, Lil Man Lukas, on Friday.
"My mommies are MARRIED!!!! Married?……yes….married!!!" the caption of the post reads with their dog wearing a bowtie.
In another Instagram post, this time from her own account, Roberts shared a picture of the two in their dresses while holding hands.
“An intimate, magical wedding ceremony in our backyard followed by a joyous reception…ohhhh the dancing!! We are immensely grateful to all for making it a day and a night to remember. Honeymoon here we come!” Roberts wrote.
Congratulations were shared by weekend GMA anchor Gio Benitez, who wrote, “Just so much beauty inside and out. From the dresses to the joy on your faces…and ours. Best wedding ever.”
Law & Order SVU actor Mariska Hargitay wrote, “Huuuuuge congratulations to you beautiful souls.”
The LGBTQ+ rights group The Human Rights Campaign posted, “Congratulations! Wishing you both so much love, joy and happiness.”
Roberts also posted a video of her siblings surprising the couple by entering to “This Is How We Do It” before giving their toast.
“Thought for sure they’d go with a gospel tune, nope!” Roberts wrote.
Earlier this year, Roberts discussed her marriage plans on GMA.
Roberts initially said she was "hesitating because I haven't said it out loud yet."
"I'm saying 'yes' to marriage," Roberts continued. "We're getting married this year."
She and Laign have been together since 2005.
Roberts said at the time, "It was something we had talked about but we had put it off. She became ill."
Laign was battling breast cancer. Roberts is also a cancer survivor.
In the lead-up to the wedding, GMA hosted a bachelorette party for the couple. They were treated to a Key West-inspired tropical party in the show’s Times Square studios in New York.
“Could 14-year-old Robin Roberts have imagined she’d be having a bachelorette party on national television?” asked fellow GMA host George Stephanopoulos.
“Uh-uh, no,” Roberts remarked as she shook her head. “Especially to a woman.”
