Morgan Le Shade of Black Rose Photography is mining the Tampa, Fla., area for all its erotic potential and glittering character. Read more below.
One of the pleasures of creating portfolios of photographers' work is the opportunity to help give exposure to younger talents like Morgan Le Shade of Black Rose Photography. We asked Morgan to tell us about himself and his work:
"My name is Morgan Le Shade of Black Rose Photography, based out of the Tampa Bay area of Florida. I started being a photographer back in college in 2011, but I didn't get things really running for my brand 'till I graduated and came back to my home area in 2014. I started working in the LGBTQ scene of the area with my start being at Liquid Tampa (which is currently closed) working with the local drag queens, including queens from RuPaul's Drag Race, with one of my first ones being Bianca Del Rio, the season 6 winner herself. Since then I've done so much working with multiple brands, venues (Southern Nights Tampa and Orlando, Wenas Nightclub and Showbar, and Flamingo Resort in St. Pete, etc.), and well-known talents in the LGBTQ world. As I progressed, I started working with males more often, something I became well-known for, especially my more risque/erotic work. It comes with its stigmas and pre-conceived notions, but I love it regardless. It's been a fun adventure so far and I can't wait to learn and do more. Some of my biggest photography inspirations are people like my friend Taylor Burmfield, Eric Magnussen, Ethan James, Scotty Kirby, Jose Hernandez, Magnus Hastings, Mark Henderson, and many others. What I love most about my craft is the ability to just create and give the rest of the world a glimpse into how you perceive it. There is also the bonus of seeing people smile as they see themselves in a picture and how good it makes them feel about themselves too. I'm still young with many challenges and experiences ahead and I can't wait to tackle them head on."
