Matthew Dean Stewart's photos open up the idea of the masculine ideal and set it free.
Matthew Dean Stewart is a photographer born and raised outside of Los Angeles, but he started his photographic journey in New York City after moving there in 2012. Currently he resides in Portland, Oregon, but has spent the majority of 2017 traveling the country and taking portraits of men all over. In February, 2018, he will be releasing his first book called Fragile Masculinity, challenging societal gender norms and what it means to be a man in this country. Over 90 pages featuring 60 color photos of 30 men from all over the United States. The Kickstarter to raise funds for the printing costs of the book can be found here.
You can connect with Matthew on his web site, Instagram, Facebook, and Tumblr.
