Super producer Jake Resnicow (center) produced the launch party in the most amazing nightlife space ever created.
Party curator and nightlife guru Jake Resnicow launched Sony Hall, NYC's newest mega music venue, in grand style this weekend with a special one night only event featuring live performances by CHIC disco legend Kimberly Davis ("Good Times," "Le Freak," "I Want Your Love," "Everybody Dance," "My Fire") and Sydney's DJ Dan Slater. Formerly known as the Diamond Horseshoe, Sony Hall preserves the look and feel of the historic venue that includes a speakeasy and backstage Queen's quarters, coated floor to ceiling with wax. Yet, it's been updated with an immersive sound system made up of 53 speakers that encapsulate partygoers into total music environment.
"I liken the space to the most decadent cake you could ever imagine," says designer Douglas Little. "If you were to eat it all at once, you'd probably be sick. But if you take it in little pieces, it's so extraordinary. Nothing like this has ever been made before."
See more about Jake Resnicow on Facebook and Instagram. And read a great profile of him on our sister site, Out. The delirously beautiful photos are by Bryan Kwon.
