Bear Happy Hour is the Nation's largest weekly bear event time winner of "Best of Gay DC - Best Happy Hour" and Washington D.C.'s original Bear Happy Hour.
National Police Week is held every May. Law enforcement agencies from across the nation come to Washington, D.C., for a number of observances to honor police officers who have died in the performance of duty. Police Week includes the annual candlelight vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Judiciary Square in Northwest D.C., as well as National Peace Officers Memorial Day services at the Capitol. Each year during National Police Week, the Fraternal Order of Police, DC Lodge #1 Auxiliary holds a memorial service to honor those members of the law enforcement community in the region who have been killed in the line of duty over the past year. The annual service is held at the memorial fountain outside MPDC Headquarters, the Henry J. Daly Building, named in honor of the MPDC sergeant gunned down inside the Homicide Branch at headquarters in November 1994. Get additional information about National Police Week through the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
