Davide Laffe and his camera come alive at night to capture men after dark. Read more below.
Davide Laffe was born in Los Angeles. He fell into photography when he was asked to photograph transgender escorts for their ads. Then he worked with independent musicians to develop photo shoots for their albums. He moved to New York City in 2010 and started photographing nightlife events, and explored his love of photographing drag queens. Living in NYC was tough, so he moved back to Los Angeles, but kept returning to Gotham. Laffe lived the bicoastal life for eight years off and on, which led him to make a name for himself. Laffe was nominated for a Glammy Award for best nightlife photographer and was also featured in GMHC's annual Arts & AIDS Gallery, showcasing art from men living with HIV -- proving you do not have to be HIV-positive to be affected by it. Davide moved back to Los Angeles full-time in 2017 and has worked for many of the major promoters, clubs, and organizations and continues to expand his artistic expression beyond drag and nightlife culture.
