Evita—embraced by the trans and GNC community—happens every Friday night at Nightingale in West Hollywood. Read more below.
Friday, February 22 was a celebration and fundraiser for the trans and gender non-conforming community where all of the profits from Evita will be donated to the Unique Woman's Coalition -- the first trans-led organization in SoCal founded and organized by trans women of color.
The event was massively successful and raised thousands of dollars for the Unique Woman's Coalition. Famous attendees included: Gigi Gorgeous, Billie Lee, Adrienne Bailon and Tamara Mawry. Also Aquaria! (RuPaul's Drag Race season 10 winner and current holder of the crown).
Below a statement from Evita producers Andres Rigal and Ollywood:
"Since the rebirth of Evita in September last year, the party has always had an extremely strong and loyal trans and gender non-confirming following.
"Some of the world's most well-known trans artists and figures are considered part of the Evita family. From legendary DJ Lina Bradford, who spins regularly at the party, to high profile influencers like Gigi Gorgeous and Laith Ashley, who often frequent the party.
"Every week at Evita the trans and GNC community are embraced and represented but we wanted to do more by putting on a special night where all of the profit goes directly into supporting and improving the lives of those we consider our family.
"Working with the Unique Woman's Coalition, we curated a line up with some LA's most exciting trans and GNC talent.
"Performances included Miss Shelae, an incredible Beyonce impersonator, NYC-based duo Sateen, performance artist Love Bailey, rapper Epiphany Matell, and dancer Gia Banks. They were joined by over two dozen hosts including actors, influencers, artists, models, and dancers, all with varying gender identities and expressions.
"We will continue to support and encourage the trans and GNC community every week at Evita and are looking forward to working on other ways to help."
