35 Campy Met Gala Looks That Served Queer, Gender-Bending Brilliance

This year's theme at the Met Gala was "Camp: Notes on Fashion," which left many designers with the task of interpreting the definition of "camp." The theme is referential of a famous Susan Sontag essay, in which the late queer writer interpreted the term as "anti-serious" and "the spirit of extravagance." Notable examples on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's new exhibit included Bjork's swan dress and the oeuvre of John Waters.
While not all the guests at the Met Gala understood the concept, there were many sartorial standouts, including -- not surprisingly -- many of the LGBTQ attendees. See some of the best camp ensembles below.
