At the Daddy Issues party, Impulse Group broke a record for HIV testing. Read more below.
The Daddy Issues party teamed up with nonprofit group Impulse to throw a huge pool party in Beverly Hills where everything was free if you got tested for HIV or STIs. Together they broke Impulse's previous record of 315 tests -- this year 407 of the partygoers tested for entry.
Daddy Issues, which has now conquered 25 cities around the world, has always been a party that has been loud about its policies of inclusion, welcoming and celebrating EVERYONE that steps through their doors. Teaming up with Impulse furthers their goals to be more than a party and to be a queer brand passionate about raising awareness of important LGBTQ issues, not just Daddy Issues.
The party took place this Saturday, in an amazing location with a perfect pool. Partygoers of all kinds were welcomed into a huge mansion in the hills and gifted free branded merchandise on arrival, which included @heyrooney illustrated tanks, towels, and fans. Super-cute photobooths were dotted around the venue and inflatable crabs filled the pools (as its Cancer season!). Drinks and tacos were free and poolside drag shows starred three up-and-coming L.A. queens: Chyna Mulani, Astrud Aurelia, and S'ahara, as well as Season 10, RuPaul's Drag Race top 3 queen, Kameron Michaels.
The party was hosted by Chester Lockhart and Francois Sagat, as well as the man behind Daddy Issues himself -- Ollywood. Check it out on Instagram at @daddyissuesparty and @impulsegroup. Fabulous photos by @davidelaffe.
