The title of photographer Arnoldas Kubilius's first book fuses the Spanish word "hombres," meaning men, with the French word for shadows, "ombres."
The offset-printed, hard-cover, limited-edition book, which combines dreamy images of bodies drowning in luscious colours with raw, carnal close-ups, has been co-created by the Netherlands-based British designer Jake Noakes.
(H)OMBRES also features an insightful essay by American photographer Connie Imboden who has spent half a century investigating, as she puts it, "the raw seduction of flesh."
The book has been published with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Luxembourg.
