With the infamous Folsom Street Fair only days away, we're highlighting some amazing photos taken last year from photographer Chantis. These photos show the variety of folks who come to the San Francisco event, which is the world's largest celebration of kink, leather, and alternative sexualities.
Last year the fair returned in full last for the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic (there were modified events in 2021) and drew an estimated 100,000 people, many of them LGBTQ+.
"Sunday's celebration felt like an experience punctuated by releases -- literally and figuratively speaking," SFist noted at the time. "The sense of joy that against all odds, the largest leather festival in the world managed to navigate the pandemic and return in true form was palpable."
