The intern for Sen. Tom Cotton is now without a job.
An intern for U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas was caught on tape using a gay slur to describe the British and using racist language while proudly proclaiming himself bigoted against Muslims.
The intern no longer has a job with the Republican senator, reports Mediaite, which posted the tape.
Mediaite accumulated a series of conversations with the intern and posted a nearly two-minute-long audio recording today but refused to identify the man by name. Instead he's referred to only by his first name, Nathan, or Nate for short.
"We are choosing to only use the intern's first name just to keep his name clean from any future employer's Google search," the site explained in an editor's note, "but as is obvious from the piece, are not actively seeking to protect his identity."
Nathan said Americans are "the superior race to everyone in the world" because of the U.S. record fighting wars, and he termed the British "faggots." He repeatedly called House Speaker Paul Ryan a "cuck" -- a racist term used widely by those called the alt-right.
"Am I a bigot?" he asked rhetorically when proudly supporting President Trump's travel ban that targets Muslims. "I guess damn so!"
Nathan packs a lot of animus into a brief window.
