Lying for a vindictive, incompetent president is not something to celebrate, according to many media watchers.

After Stephen Colbert brought former White House press secretary Sean Spicer onto the Emmy stage on Sunday, some thought it was a good joke. But others sharply criticized Spicer's presence -- noting his role in the Trump administration's relentless dishonesty is anything but a laughing matter. The quick cameo, which definitely serviced Spicer's reputation, elicited numerous responses on social media. Here are the most compelling.
