The out MSNBC journalist was overcome by emotion by the administration's cruelty.
MSNBC's Rachel Maddow devoted her entire Tuesday night show to the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border, where President Trump has imposed a new policy that separates migrants and asylum-seekers from their children.
After explaining to viewers that the administration is pleased with the backlash to the policy, hoping its racist policies propel Republicans to victory in November, Maddow read a breaking AP report about "tender age shelters." At these South Texas camps, babies and young children taken from parents are held.
Overcome with tears, Maddow had difficult describing the camps. She eventually handed the report off to Lawrence O'Donnell.
