Several antigay protesters interrupted presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg when he spoke at an event sponsored by the Dallas County Democratic Party on Friday night.

At least four people stood up and screamed during Buttigieg's speech, yelling "Repent!" and "Marriage is between a man and a woman!," according to TIME. All of the hecklers were forced to leave the event, including antigay activist Randall Terry, who screamed, "Remember Sodom and Gomorrah!"

An anti-abortion activist, without a ticket, also disrupted the event before being removed from the gathering.

Responding to the Christian activists, Buttigieg told the crowd that he fought for their right to protest when he served in Afghanistan as a navy officer. Later, fellow presidential candidate and former Texas congressman Beto O'Rourke stood up for Buttigieg.
