It's been a whirlwind year for the LGBTQ+ community. And fortunately, Billy Porter has arrived to break it down.

For the third year in a row, the gay Pose star delivered an LGBTQ State of the Union in partnership with Logo TV. This time, the address reviewed a dizzying array of events, from the Black Lives Matter protests to the presidential election to the pandemic.

While there was much reason to despair, Porter gave a portrait of progress, noting how the rainbow wave ushered in an unprecedented number of LGBTQ+ elected officials as well as other milestones like the Supreme Court decision in favor of LGBTQ+ workplace protections.

"In 2020, I told you our union remained far from broken and our responsibility as citizens has never been more urgent," Porter declared. "Through our compassion and resilience, we survived a year of challenges that seemed insurmountable at times. And while we continue to face many of these adversities in 2021, I can confidently say that our union remains strong as we march toward greatness and inclusivity."

"Brighter days are ahead of us if we continue to work toward them together. Be safe and be good to each other. And remember, we will feel joy again soon," he concluded.
