John Delaney, the conservative former mayor of Jacksonville, Fla., and the current head of the University of North Florida, has come out in support of a national LGBT nondiscrimination bill.

Writing on Jacksonville.com, Delaney describes himself as a "pro-life religious conservative. I pray and read the Bible daily. I'm a rock-solid, loyal Republican." But, "I am with Ronald Reagan's ideological tutor, Sen. Barry Goldwater regarding homosexuality: Live and let live."

Delaney says LGBT people aren't speaking special rights, only to be "treated equally." He also reminds readers that Jesus didn't condemn anyone and presumably said, "Let who among you without sin cast the first stone."
