The anti-drag, anti-LGBTQ+ congresswoman apparently doesn't see the hypocrisy here.

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene apparently doesn’t see the hypocrisy in campaigning against drag performances when she’s dating a man who once dressed in drag.

Brian Glenn, now programming director for Right Side Broadcasting Network, a conservative outlet, once sported drag for a segment on a Dallas TV station. It’s not clear when the piece aired, but he worked at the station from 2013 to 2015, The New Republic reports. He and the far-right, anti-LGBTQ+ Republican congresswoman from Georgia have been involved since late last year.

Patriot Takes, a Twitter account that monitors the right, shared the video of Glenn Sunday, paired with a clip of Greene saying, “You’re damn right we’re upset over drag queens.” Greene has said drag events that are open to children amount to “indoctrination” and should be illegal.

“Well, her boyfriend’s news segment presumably did not include a warning for any minors who might be watching, so people under the age of 18 were likely able to see such obscene content,” The New Republic notes.

In the video, Glenn promoted a local theater production by donning a pink dress and a blond wig. “I’m kicking the shoes off,” he said. “I may keep the pantyhose on. It does feel kind of good, actually.”

Greene sees nothing wrong with the video. “I’m literally lol’ing,” she wrote Sunday when retweeting the Patriot Takes post, adding “The left is so stupid.” Glenn shared Greene’s tweet, and he also shared a tweet calling the right “hypocrites,” on which he commented, “It’s a good thing I have a sense of humor.” (In a separate tweet Monday, BTW, Glenn called WNBA star Brittney Griner a man. She is a cisgender woman.)

Greene’s anti-LGBTQ+ activism hasn’t been limited to demonizing drag. She has claimed supporters of LGBTQ+ equality are grooming children for abuse and that the Democratic Party is “the party of pedophiles.” She has proposed a national ban on gender-affirming care for minors and said the proposed Equality Act “destroys God’s creation” and “completely annihilates women’s rights and religious freedoms.” She’s contended that there’s a plot to turn everyone gay or transgender.

An equal opportunity offender, Greene is also known for saying schools are “teaching racism” when they teach about the wrongs done to people of color and for her theory that wildfires are caused by lasers shot into space by prominent Jewish Americans. Then there are her famed malapropisms, such as saying that the “gazpacho police” (she meant “Gestapo”) are monitoring conservative members of Congress and that meat substitutes are developed in a “peach tree dish,” not a “Petri dish.” Oh, and Bill Gates and the federal government want to make sure all Americans eat that fake meat!

On drag, “The actual problem for Republicans does not seem to be drag, but who is dressed in drag,” The New Republic notes. Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, who signed the nation’s first state law restricting drag performances, dressed in drag for a high school yearbook picture. Gay Republican Congressman George Santos, caught in many lies and now under indictment, has apparently performed in drag. But their party is standing by them.
