Britney-spears-toasted-these-gay-newlyweds-signed-their-wedding-certificate_0What's gayer than two guys getting married? Two guys getting married at a Britney Spears concert. Woody Arenas and David Krawsek were the lucky couple to wed with the assistance of the pop superstar during her concert April 24 at Las Vegas's Planet Hollywood.

"The Axis and Planet Hollywood invited us to exchange vows in the venue the night of the Britney Spears concert, which happened to be our one-year anniversary of dating," Woody tells The Advocate. "The Axis gave all of our friends tickets to the pit to attend Britney's concert, and before the concert started, David and I were invited to meet Britney backstage. At the meet-and-greet, Britney congratulated us again and gave us our first wedding card. She also took a photo with us and even signed our marriage certificate. What a great night."

Woody and David hail from northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. The two also met at a Britney Spears concert, which made their dream wedding even more appropriate.

"[We met in] December 2013 at the opening night of the Britney Spears: Piece of Me concert. We both arrived with a group of friends and were standing next to each other in the pit," Woody remembers. "We danced together during the show and hung out all night after the concert with our friends. We had a few drinks at Planet Hollywood, then went to the Paris casino and had more cocktails and looked at the Las Vegas strip from the top of the Eiffel Tower. We plan on going to Paris for our honeymoon during the Christmas holiday to visit the Eiffel Tower and re-create our first time meeting."

Britneycouplex400_0That meeting, of course, morphed into something more. Woody says, "After the concert, we both went our separate ways, David to San Diego, and I went back to Washington, D.C. David and I became friends through Facebook and text, and the friendship turned into a relationship after months of getting to know each other. In April we became an official couple when David surprised me in baggage claim when I arrived to Indianapolis for a work conference. We have been together ever since."

Woody continues, "I remember that David was the one I loved with all my heart a few weeks into our relationship when he texted me lyrics to different love songs. He would send me texts, daily messages over email and Facebook, and letters and small gifts in the mail while he was deployed. My love for him grew stronger and stronger every day. When he came home on 30-day leave in November for the holidays, I knew when I returned him to the airport to head back to finish his deployment in Diego Garcia that he was the one I was going to marry."

David informally popped the question over FaceTime shortly after same-sex marriage became legal in Virginia. He was deployed with the Navy as a medic at the time, but the two arranged to get hitched upon his return.

The ceremony was officiated by Roland August (seen in Katy Perry's "Waking Up in Vegas" music video).

"The minister was funny and so supportive of our relationship," Woody shares. "After we were married, Britney surprised us with a champagne toast for us and our friends, along with a personal video that she made just for us."
