In a video posted to her YouTube account yesterday, Ingrid Nilsen came out to her millions of followers. The 26-year-old, who has shared beauty tips for years, got very personal in the heartfelt message, saying:
"I guess I am just going to get right to it. There's something that I want you to know, and that something is: I'm gay." She then added, emotion flooding her face:
"It feels so good to say that." In the video, which is almost 20 minutes long, Nilsen explains that she always knew she was gay, realizing at the age of four that it was girls, not boys, who she had crushes on.
However, growing up in an environment less than accepting of homosexuality, she suppressed it, acknowledging that she had dated men until quite recently.
