Despite all the conservative backlash from last week's historic Supreme Court ruling on the nationwide legality of same-sex marriage, Jon Stewart is taking a stand for the LGBT community. And, in true fashion, using the most hilarious means necessary.
On Monday night's episode of Comedy Central's The Daily Show, Stewart voiced his happiness about nationwide marriage equality as well as his displeasure at the negative reactions of Republicans. He likened their responses to that of the nefarious Harry Potter villain Voldemort.
"The insurance exchanges remain open, and committed same-sex couples can form lifelong, society-stabilizing, legally recognized bonds. Truly, Voldemort has risen. And the living will envy the dead," Stewart said sarcastically, joking about how Ted Cruz's camp must have reacted to Friday's SCOTUS ruling on marriage equality.
