    DTLA Proud

We loved L.A.Pride in West Hollywood this year, but there were problems. The organization of the West Hollywood celebration was controversial this year, and then the unforeseen tragedy of Orlando was just filtering out to folks on the West Coast early on the day of the parade.

So with DTLA Proud this Sunday, we get not only a reset on L.A. Pride, but we get to spread our love to downtown Los Angeles, at one time a thriving center of the LGBT folks in the southland. Plus, Los Angeles is so damn big we need to have multiple events and venues. It’s just the truth.

ThePrideLA.com reports there were around 4,000 people, which is great for a fledgling event. The day was beautiful under the magical mylar cloud sculpture, “Liquid Shard” created by artist Patrick Shearn. There were pop-up pool parties and a variety of art-drive, installations, as well as tons of entertainment.

So, DTLA Pride. It’s a thing.
