Even though many in London felt fearful and still shaken by recent violence there, more than 26,000 people joined the Pride Parade through central London this past weekend, as reported by the BBC.
"We must stamp out homophobic bullying in schools, and drive down homophobic and transphobic hate crime,” Prime Minister Theresa May stated on a video message.
The annual parade, now in its 45th year, also notes the decriminalization of homosexuality in England and Wales 50 years ago.
