A strange ritual at a San Diego-area school was recently uncovered -- middle school boys watching gay porn in class to see who gets aroused.

The alleged activity occurred at a boys-only English class at Bell Middle School in Paradise Hill. Students watched gay pornography on their cell phones; anyone becoming aroused was labeled "gay." There was also masturbation going on in class, according to reports and statements. Nine students have been suspended.

Teacher Ed Johnson is accused of turning a blind eye to the mischief. After some students reported the behavior, The San Diego Union-Tribune reports, "the teacher said he would give the students referrals to the office if he caught them, before returning to a book he was reading at his desk. The student said everything was in plain view, had the teacher glanced in the direction of the activity."
