Rivals on Olympic ice at the games in Vancouver, Canada, in 2010 and in Sochi, Russia, in 2014, gold medalists Meghan Duggan of Team USA and Gillian Apps of Team Canada were married this weekend, according to Vanity Fair.

The women, both forwards on the ice, were wed at an outdoor ceremony in Pownal, Maine, where U.S. Olympians Kacey Bellamy, Brianna Decker, and Erika Lawler were bridesmaids.

"The most incredible day of my entire life," Duggan wrote in an Instagram post that included a photo of the brides touching foreheads on the dance floor.

Not only were Duggan and Apps on opposing sides, they were team captains when they squared off against each other at the Olympics.

Apps, whose grandfather Syl Apps was a Canadian Hockey Hall of Famer, retired from hockey in 2015. Meanwhile, Duggan led Team USA to a gold-medal win over Team Canada at the Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, this year.
