There have been a handful of sweet same-sex pro-sports engagements and marriages over the years, including the recent announcement that former U.S. Women's National Soccer Team players (currently with the Orlando Pride) Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger are engaged. Now a pair of cricket players, one from Australia and one from New Zealand, have wed, according to NDTV Sports.

The women, Nicola Hancock, 23, and Hayley Jensen, 26, who were married over the weekend, both played for the Melbourne Stars before Jensen moved on to the Melbourne Renegades.

The Melbourne Stars celebrated their wedding on Twitter.

Jensen made her international cricket debut playing for New Zealand's national cricket team, the White Ferns, in 2014. For the 2017-2018 season, she was named the best player in the Victoria Women's Premier Cricket competition.

For her part, Hancock was recently the second highest wicket taker for the Melbourne Stars.

Leading up to their nuptials, Hancock wrote on Instagram, "I will continue to make you laugh until your adorable face hurts. Only 46 days until the day we have both been dreaming of."

On their wedding day she wrote, "I got to marry the girl of my dreams. The day was filled with lots of laughter, joy and of course love. I would like to thank everyone for making the day what is was. We love all of our family and friends and am so grateful to have you all in our lives. Here's to our next chapter xx."
