The Cobb County board voted 4-3 Thursday to terminate the contract of Katherine Rinderle.
She testified that she believes there is nothing inappropriate or sensitive about the children’s picture book.
In addition to laws that directly forbid mention of certain subjects, more subtle laws are having a negative impact, says a recent report from PEN America.
The victim says those who attacked her are still in school. "No one has a right to judge or attack someone because they are different," the girl's guardian said.
