Ghanaian pastor and musician Sonnie Badu says that even gospel music isn't safe from the evil gays.
Officials warned President Akufo-Addo that signing the draconian anti-LGBTQ+ bill into law would have grave consequences.
Vice Pres. Harris had condemned the bill on a visit to the country in March.
The bill also would require even tougher sentences for forming or funding LGBTQ+ groups.
The bill would outlaw all same-sex relations, and imprison those who identify as LGBTQ+ or form pro-LGBTQ+ groups.
The vice president voiced support for "equality among all people."
Church leaders say that aspects of the bill are "severe" and that acts of hostility against LGBTQ+ people must be denounced.
"We are in awe of your strength, your bravery, and your audacity to be true to who you are even when it is dangerous to do so," an open letter signed by the stars reads.
Introduced in 2021, this bill not only criminalizes LGBTQ relationships, but also those who support LGBTQ rights.
