Maybelle "All the Way Mae" Blair is still slinging as she marks her 97th birthday.
The recently out Blair played in the famed All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, which inspired the new A League of Their Own series and the original film.
The new and queer-inclusive series about the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League premieres August 12.
The couple's more than 70-year romance was featured in Ryan Murphy's 2020 documentary.
Blair, who played professional baseball in a women’s league, received the Amazin' Mets Foundation's inaugural Legacy Award.
"All The Way Mae" Blair played for the women's baseball league on which the original film and new Amazon Studios series are based.
In June, 95-year-old former ball player Maybelle Blair came out publicly as gay. At a panel for the A League of Their Own series at Frameline, she shared about queer life in the league.
