The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit issued its ruling Thursday, but the lawyers representing trans youth and families note that the fight is not over.
It is the first time a federal court has allowed such a law to go into effect.

“The Heath Care Ban violates the constitutional rights of Tennessee adolescents and their parents, and — if it goes into effect — will cause severe and irreparable harm,” the complaint says.
The bill would ban instructional materials "that promote, normalize, support, or address lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, or transgender issues or lifestyle."
If the high court takes up the case, it would be the first one it hears on gender-affirming care.
