These straight dudes stepped up to the plate to call out the president's cruelty.
The mostly male world of late-night comedy was shaken by President Trump's sudden Twitter announcement Wednesday that he was banning all transgender people from serving in the military.
Most of the comedians -- like Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Trevor Noah, and Seth Meyers -- harangued the president in their monologues, pointing out the cruelty and ineptitude of the new policy directive. Noah and Colbert found much humor in Trump's tweet that announced the ban, which followed the devastating announcement with "Thank you" (Colbert had a bleeped-out response to that).
The most original take on the trans military ban came from musical fan James Corden, who put on a whole Cabaret-inspired musical number laying out the president's betrayal and scapegoating of all the letters in "LGBT." So, guess we won't be seeing a "Carpool Karaoke" with the 45th president any time soon.
