Regrets? Debra Messing has one at least -- appearing on Megyn Kelly Today.
The Will & Grace star revealed she was "dismayed" by the host's remarks on LGBT people, in response to a fan's question on Instagram.
"But why did you guys do the Megyn Kelly show? That's a fail!" asked user ivor_pine, in the comments of a photograph posted by Messing of a bowl of chopped cucumbers.
"Honestly I didn't know it was MK until that morning. The itinerary just said Today Show appearance. Regret going on. Dismayed by her comments," Messing responded.
Messing as well as costars Eric McCormack, Megan Mullally, and Sean Hayes -- and cocreators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan -- appeared on the debut of the conservative journalist's NBC talk show Monday, in order to promote the Thursday premiere of the Will & Grace revival.
The controversial "comments" occurred after Kelly invited a Will & Grace fan, Russell Turner, onstage to meet the cast.
"I look at Will Truman and I'm like, 'He has it made!' Lawyer, best apartment in New York City, and gay? Come on, trifecta," said Turner, who pursued a career as a lawyer because he was impressed with McCormack's character, Will, during the NBC sitcom's initial run.
Kelly then surprised Turner with an invitation to Los Angeles for a taping of the show. And then she said this: "I don't know about the lawyer thing, but I think the Will & Grace thing and the gay thing are going to work out great."
The "gay thing" joke caused a backlash on social media, with some perceiving it as homophobic.
