In only his second episode as a performer on Saturday Night Live, out comedian Bowen Yang stole the spotlight as a Chinese government official ready to bring on the trade war.

Yang, the first East Asian performer on the show, starred as Chen Biao, a Chinese tariff official. Biao, appearing on "Weekend Update," came off as a narcissistic mess who loved hamming it up for the camera, a character one might associate more with the administration of Donald Trump, rather than that of Chinese president Xi Jinping.

"I'm running tariffs so this is my time, I'm having my moment, I'm basically the Lizzo of China right now," Biao says. "Turns out I'm 100 percent that trade daddy."

Biao highlighted the leverage China has over America in Trump's self-defeating trade war. "Good luck without iPhones, how you gonna text us in the middle of the night like, 'You up, you gonna investigate Joe Biden for me?' Stupid."

Biao prepared to bring the fire to a meeting this week with Trump. "Look Don Don, you want to play ball with Big Red?" Biao asks. "We actually built our wall."
