RuPaul is back in drag for scripted entertainment.

The RuPaul's Drag Race host shimmers in gowns covered with sequins and feathers in a new teaser for AJ and the Queen.

In the upcoming Netflix series, RuPaul walks in the heels of Ruby Red, a drag queen whose dreams of opening a drag club are dashed after she is swindled by a con man (Josh Segarra) and his eyepatch-wearing accomplice, Lady Danger (Tia Carrere). Back to square one, Ruby Red embarks on a road trip, only to find herself in the additional role of a caregiver after 10-year-old AJ (Izzy G.) sneaks into her RV.

Created by Michael Patrick King (Sex and the City), the show also stars Michael-Leon Wooley and Katerina Tannenbaum. AJ and the Queen is culturally notable because it will feature performances from RuPaul in each episode; in recent years, the host has rarely worn drag outside of Drag Race.
