The final season of Schitt's Creek is just a few weeks away, and it's already been an emotional ride. The series, about a wealthy family stripped of their status and most of their "things" forced to live in a roadside motel in the tiny town the patriarch once purchased for laughs, has always brimmed with hilarity and a whole lot of heart. And that combination seems to be just what audiences needed. Somewhere between its fourth and fifth seasons, Schitt's Creek from Pop TV blew up into a phenomenon and began to get noticed on the awards circuit.

The new season will follow David (Dan Levy) and Patrick (Noah Reid) as they plan their wedding, Alexis (Annie Murphy) as she prepares to follow Ted to the Galapagos Islands, Stevie (Emily Hampshire) in the wake of her tour de force as Sally Bowles (which leaves her seeking more from life), Johnny (Eugene Levy) as he embarks on some new business ventures, and Moira (Catherine O'Hara) hanging on the fate of that crows movie and her acting career.

Of course, Schitt's Creek evokes heartfelt emotion nearly as often as it does laughter, so the final season from creators Dan and Eugene Levy promises to be a tearjerker.
