Get ready for a return to Gilead -- and potentially, its fall.

Hulu released the official trailer for season 3 of The Handmaid's Tale, and it shows a dramatic turn for the series inspired by Margaret Atwood's dystopian novel.

The trailer depicts the show's heroine, Offred (Elisabeth Moss), as an emerging leader in the Resistance against Gilead, the far-right religious regime that formed from the United States following a rapid decline in birth rates among women. In this universe, which has terrifying echoes of America today, women have been stripped of their rights.

The first two seasons showed Offred and the other handmaids suffering after being conscripted to have sex with Gilead's male leaders and bear their children. After helping her child escape at the end of season 2, however, Offred made the choice to return and fight back against the patriarchy.

The streaming service first debuted the trailer Wednesday at the presentation of its 2019 season, which also includes a revival of Veronica Mars. The Handmaid's Tale appears to also have a new tagline: "Blessed be the fight."

Watch the trailer, which includes characters portrayed by Yvonne Strahovski, Alexis Bledel, Ann Dowd, and Samira Wiley, below. And don't miss the season 3 premiere of The Handmaid's Tale June 5 on Hulu.
