I Am Jazz has released a dramatic trailer for its sixth season.

In the teaser for the TLC reality TV series, 19-year-old transgender activist Jazz Jennings is undergoing her third gender-confirmation procedure -- and things are not going smoothly.

"We need a nurse now!" shouts her alarmed mother, Jeanette, after the conclusion of the procedure, to which Jazz had invited her ex-boyfriend, Ahmir, for emotional support.

Jennings had her first gender-confirmation procedure in June 2018. In a 2019 interview with The Advocate, she spoke candidly about the importance of America following her journey.

"I think by sharing my surgery experience, people can really see that I'm just a normal girl living my life wanting to go through with this because this is my choice," Jennings said.

In addition to her own journey, Jennings is helping raise $15,000 for her friend Noelle's gender-affirmation surgery through a charity drag show.

Moreover, she must choose whether to attend Harvard University or Pomona College in California, which is significantly farther away from her East Coast family. In the trailer, Jeanette tells Jazz that she is "too unstable to be that far from home."
