The trailer for RuPaul's Drag Race season 13 has arrived -- and a shocking twist has been ru-vealed.

Upon arrival to the werk room, the queens learn they must immediately engage in a lip-synch battle royale to secure their spot in the competition. The season will thus begin with a series of six lipsynchs for their lives.

Last week, VH1 unveiled the new season's cast, which includes Denali, Elliott With 2 Ts, Joey Jay, Kahmora Hall, Kandy Muse, LaLa Ri, Olivia Lux, Rose, Symone, Tamisha Iman, Tina Burner, Utica Queen, and Gottmik, the first out trans man to compete on the reality competition.

The network also unveiled its premiere date and time: Friday, January 1, at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific. Untucked will air directly afterward at 9:30 p.m. Eastern and Pacific.
