RuPaul's Drag Race: Vegas Revue shows love in the time of COVID-19 -- or just before it, anyway.
A new clip from RuPaul's latest spinoff -- showing the first three minutes of the reality series -- shows more from the talked-about scene of Vanessa "Vanjie" Mateo and Kameron Michaels locking lips.
"This ain't staying in Vegas," Mateo said in a cutaway.
It also shows the queens, in the midst of the usual backstage drama -- Asia O'Hara moves out of the team dressing room, Naomi Smalls is late, RuPaul expresses concerns and prayers -- grapple with the future of their Las Vegas show after Broadway goes dark in the wake of a global pandemic.
"I have no idea what's going on. What is going to happen to us?" Michaels asked.
Viewers of the six-part docuseries of the show's first Las Vegas residency, RuPaul's Drag Race Live!, will find out. Vegas Revue follows Yvie Oddly, O'Hara, Derrick Barry, Michaels, Smalls, and Mateo "as they showcase the charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent it takes to pull off groundbreaking performances in front of a live audience," a release stated.
RuPaul's Drag Race Live!, directed by RuPaul and Jamal Sims, premiered in January at the Flamingo Las Vegas but was put on hold due to the health pandemic. A teaser of its songs was featured in a Drag Race season 12 "Ru-sical" challenge.
Watch the new teaser for RuPaul's Drag Race: Vegas Revue below and see the premiere Friday, August 21 at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific on VH1.
