Dan Levy was as excited to host Saturday Night Live as his fans.

"My 13-year-old self has fainted in a really needy, melodramatic way," the gay Schitt's Creek star said in his opening monologue of the NBC variety show, which included a recap of 2020's highlights (a sweep of Emmy awards) delivered by "a stranger in a hazmat suit."

The monologue included a COVID-friendly tour of the studio, where he passed a photograph of his costar Catherine O'Hara and (surprise!) ran into his father, Eugene Levy, in a decontamination chamber.

"I flew in to wish you luck tonight but because I traveled, I'm now in an isolation box," Eugene explained to his son of traveling from Canada.

Dan Levy was featured in several skits Saturday, including spoofs of a Zillow ad, It Gets Better, and a Super Bowl party. Watch them and the monologue below.
