Mo (Alex Newell) has a fiery new love interest on Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist.
That spark comes from Perry (David St. Louis), a fire inspector who walks into the restaurant that Mo and Max (Skylar Astin) are preparing to open, Maximo's.
In an exclusive clip shared with The Advocate, Mo lights up a kitchen torch as Perry arrives, setting the stage for the temperature in the room to rise. However, as Perry informs the restaurateur, that torch may also be a code violation.
Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist is about a woman (Jane Levy) who acquires the supernatural ability to hear other people's thoughts as songs. The Glee alumnus plays Zoey's musically gifted neighbor, who has helped her understand and navigate her newfound abilities. Previously, the first season also had a love interest for Mo, Eddie, and the pair brought a rare interracial queer romance to network TV.
The actor who portrays Mo's new flame, St. Louis, comes from the worlds of television and theater. He starred on Broadway in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and has been featured on Supergirl, Tommy, Third Watch, and more.
Zoey's returns Sunday, March 28, at 9 p.m. Eastern and Pacific on NBC. Watch the teaser below.
