Revry, the first global LGBTQ+ network, will premiere its first original queer-centric news series, Culture Q, this Thursday.
The weekly series promises a mix of pop culture, entertainment, politics, and lifestyle coverage of importance to the LGBTQ+ community. It's hosted by digital news influencers Shira Lazar and Andy Lalwani of What's Trending, and will feature Dashaun Wesley of HBO Max's Legendary MC as its first guest. The show will air at 8 p.m. Eastern/5 p.m. Pacific.
"Having created and hosted What's Trending for the past decade, it is an honor to be able to partner with Revry to bring our news expertise to the LGBTQ community," Lazar said in a press release. "It's more important than ever before to report LGBTQ stories consistently to audiences as we continue the fight for rights and equality across the country."
"It's important to highlight the intersectional voices among queer communities that can be marginalized and sometimes forgotten about," said Lalwani. "For myself, I'm proud to represent people of color in the media. I want people to see a face they can trust and feel comfortable with and authentically represents who they are as well."
"Culture Q represents an opportunity to celebrate LGBTQ culture and highlight the stories that matter to our community," added Revry CEO Damian Pelliccione. "Revry is committed to inspiring exploration of authentic LGBTQ stories."
What's Trending is an Emmy-nominated media company and online destination providing content on leading digital trends and topics. Created by Lazar, it has over 3 million cross-platform followers and 100 million impressions every month.
